Our vision is "to be the best at Safety, Health and Environment". The first step towards achieving this is a programme of actions under the Safety Excellence banner, as the welfare – the safety, health and wellbeing - of our employees is of paramount importance. We are already starting to bring about the required changes to our culture.
A key feature of our approach is full involvement of employees from brainstorming ideas, through involvement in working groups tasked with developing Standards and supporting guidance, to piloting draft Handbooks and communications to ensure they are fully fit for purpose.
AEA have prepared contingency plans in the event of pandemic flu. We have run workshops in co-operation with our occupational health provider, attended by all our employees, to explain the essential facts about avian flu, how it is different from ordinary flu and how you can protect yourself from it. Our continuity plans are extensive, and designed to minimise the impact to our business and reduce the risks of spreading influenza infections in the workplace.
